Jamie McLellan designs the Plane Lounge Chair for Resident with a mid-century theme and nostalgic feel. It is elevated through its form and pure timber shape. Each surface of the silhouette is either flat or carefully traced from a 2D curve. At the support base foundation, the legs are slabs instead of legs themselves.
It boasts a thick base to feel low and grounded, integrating almost to the floor itself. Between these slats is the cantilevered seat which is made like a wooden diving board. The backrest is made with a single vertical sheet that carefully tilts just enough to comfortably hold the spine. The comfort is in the softness of its precise angles and dthe epth of the seat.
