Robbie Maddison's 'Pipe Dream' Takes a Dirt Bike on the Open Water

As synonymous as dirt bikes are with land and dirt, stunt rider Robbie Maddison’s 'Pipe Dream' video shows that a modified bike can be taken anywhere, including open water. The viral video shows the rider surfing on the waves of Tahiti, passing swimmers and people on actual surfboards.

The video comes from DC Shoes and has been in the works for more than two years, showing what it means to push the limits of what you think you know, or what is capable with the right sporting equipment. On the modified dirt bike, Maddison retains incredible speed, making it a video that's mind-boggling to watch.

About two years ago, the Baycycle project was launched, proposing a design for a bicycle attachment that makes it possible for cycles to float and be driven over the surface of water. This video from DC Shoes is an expression of the same concept, but in a much more extreme way.
