Pine Cone Footwear

Moonspoon Couture Borrows from Mother Nature

Several designers looked to the great outdoors for Fall/Winter 2010 collections and Moonspoon Saloon continue to for Spring/Summer 2011 collections. Striking a pitch perfect balance between the natural world and unruly combat, pine cones, twigs and woodland oddities are applied to sturdy boots, clumpy platforms and brothel creepers. Sprayed in an assortment of rainbow brights, from pink, to orange and cobalt blue, a casual DIY aesthetic pervades.

As the natural world collides with that which is man-made, fairy tales and enchanted fables are updated for a new generation of woodland nymphs -- albeit ones that come attired in billowing black leather and grunge-inspired layers.
