The 'Pickles and Ice Cream' Cookbook Explores Bizarre Food Desires

'Pickles and Ice Cream' is a unique cookbook that explores some of the most unusual cravings women experience during pregnancy.

For the creation of their unconventional cookbook, authors Vicky Jacob-Ebbinghaus and Juarez Rodriques collected information on the "craziest pregnancy cravings from around the world" and then styled them like gourmet, high-end eats. Some of the unusual recipes that can be found in the book include 'Popcorn on a Bed of Sauerkraut,' 'Sausage and Jam' and 'Buttered Watermelon.' As part of the promotions for this cookbook, real people were challenged to try bizarre combinations like hotdog-pickle smoothies and Oreo cookies and toothpaste.

As well as being able to purchase the novelty cookbook online, people may also submit their own bizarre pregnancy cravings via the official Pickles and Ice Cream cookbook website.
