Rice Paper-Inspired Statuesque Lamps

Pholc Designs the One Meter and Half Meter Lamps

Swedish design imprint Pholc works together with Danish design duo Anne Dorthe Vester and Maria Bruun on a new set of lamps dubbed the One Meter and the Half Meter. The two lights differentiate based on their heights -- one is shorter than the other.

Both of them have a structural build and rest on a solid base that is crafted from aluminum to contrast the ribbed white shade above, which evokes a warm diffused light. Bruun shares the design process, stating "We wanted to create a new interpretation of the classic rice paper lamp. A design sharing its lightness and softness but with a solid sculptural base. We explored contrasting materials to create a unique presence and sculptural reference."
