Penny Proper Brings Back Stylish Loafer Accessories

Few may recall the 1950s fad associated with embellishing one's shoes with shiny coins, but Penny Proper remembers and plans to bring back that style with contemporary flavor. In terms of footwear, loafers never really went out of style, but the practice of storing your public pay telephone dime in the little leather pocket did die out, only to come back in bright colors.

The Canadian company enlisted the help of Marc Berchold to design the penny-sized (because wearing pennies later replaced dimes) accessories with the trademark PP engraved on each. And old dapper fashion is given a playful second life with neon green, pink and orange coins, in addition to the classic-looking metals. Penny Proper tokens put fun back into items that had long ago become boring.
