The Panoší Újezd Summer House is a 32-square-meter retreat designed by Lenka Milerová Architektka through the adaptive reuse of a former pigsty in the Czech Republic. Rather than replacing the original structure, the project preserves its stone walls with a cement spray finish while introducing new steel-framed openings and cast concrete interventions. A continuous concrete element wraps the interior, forming window surrounds, seating, storage, steps, and an integrated bathtub within the single-room layout.
Completed in 2024, the summer house offers 22 square meters of usable interior space designed for seasonal living. Steel windows using Jansen systems were selected without thermal breaks, reflecting the building's status as a summer residence under local regulations. An outdoor kitchen extends the living area beyond the interior, reinforcing the building's connection to the surrounding garden. The Panoší Újezd Summer House combines exposed structural materials with handcrafted detailing, including custom steel door brackets.
