Studio Furthermore is a London-based practice that recently released a line of outer space-inspired furniture. Envisioning what objects like tables and stools would look like if they were made out of moon rock, the collection embraces raw and eroded silhouettes. A "lost foam" casting process is utilized here.

The material that Studio Furthermore used for its outer space-inspired capsule is aluminum. Therefore, the products in the Moon Rock collection have a more imaginative demeanor than an actual one. The designers intended to mimic formations of "metal-rich lunar mineral ore" and to envision a narrative where we source materials from outer space in the near future, while also taking into consideration the possible cultural shift. This is estimated by Studio Furthermore to be five to 10 years away.
