Feel festive all year round with these origami lights -- they are a colorful and bubbly decoration for your home. This DIY by blogger A Subtle Revelry is a great way to upcycle Christmas string lights throughout the year when they're not in use. The origami blow-up boxes are also easily detachable, so you can revert them back onto the tree when December rolls around.
With sheets of origami paper, make as many blow-up boxes as you desire. These are then slipped onto the individual bulbs on a long string of lights. The boxes slide on easily and stay nicely put. Once the lights are plugged in, the thin origami paper act as little paper lanterns that exude a lively glow.
