The Oreo Trending Vending Lounge was a huge hit at the South by Southwest festival held in Austin, Texas. With the vending machines invented by the technology design company Maya Design, the 3D-printed Oreos could be ordered through Twitter, with people choosing from colors most talked-about at that particular time.
Customers had the option to choose from 12 colors and flavors, all of which were complete with the signature Oreo outer-layer of cookie goodness. This combination of social media and immediate, real-time results for customers creates an ideal campaign: consumers are happy, and everyone keeping an eye on Twitter becomes exposed to the brand through the Oreo Trending Vending Lounge at the interactive SxSW event.
