The company makes gourmet food more affordable for a larger number of people, with brand-name pantry staples—from Annie's and Heinz to Kettle and others—at 40% to 70% off retail.

As an online discount grocery store, Martie is not only cost-effective but convenient as well. The venture started with delivery to residents of California and one requires no memberships or subscriptions to take advantage of the tasty discounts.

In addition to its forward-thinking food service, Martie also contributes to lowering food waste. Co-founder of Martie, Louise Fritjofsson, speaks to this: "After collectively launching more than 5 food brands, the disconnect between the value of surplus inventory–stemming from package changes, seasonal products and change in orders–and available outlets, causes 30-40% of all foods produced to go to landfill."
