Deniz Aktay designs the Omega chair concept, which is a unique form of furniture crafted from a single bent piece of material. Bending the material, whether it be plastic or metal is still a difficult task, especially if it is to be a functional seat. Not only is balance integral, but so is the structural integrity to ensure that it can support the weight of a human.
Named after a part of the Greek alphabet, the design concept takes a single folded sheet of material and bends it at the back and sides to create the two side legs as the base support as well as the backrests of the chair. It results in a smooth and organic form.
