The Fold Chair by Lorenz Krisai is Sleek and Stackable

— March 28, 2025 — Art & Design
Lorenz Krisai designed the Fold Chair, which is a striking design that is crafted from a single sheet of powder-coated steel. It carefully folds sections rather than cutting and joining various components to showcase how manufacturing does not need to compromise innovation at all. Using a single sheet creates a unique silhouette that is easily stackable and boasts a minimal design.

In terms of its production, it starts with a flat sheet of metal which is cut into what looks like a cloverleaf with four 'legs' extended and projecting out diagonally from the center. Through the folding sections, the cutout turns into a three-dimensional chair. The curved edges create the backrest and sides as the extensions fold downwards to create sturdy legs.
