Day-Lit Strip Club Captures

Christopher Sturman Shoots NYC Stip Clubs in the Morning Light

This illuminating photographic series by Christopher Sturman depicts the NYC strip club scene with the lights turned on. This deconstructs the common association of exotic dance joints with dimly lit and often sleazy atmospheres. The eye opening shots show not only the main stage with brass pole included, but other seating areas and private lounges.

'NYC Strip' looks at a variety of NYC strip clubs where men are known to engage in their carnal desires by turning a lusty locale to a more depressing and grubby place. The stiletto-scratched wooden floors become visible as do the well-worn fabric of the chairs and furnishings in the audience.

Sturman manages to convey a sense of being there amongst the debauchery and despair with these stunning shots.
