Cross-Platform Messaging Apps

'Nothing Phone' is Getting its Own Version of iMessage

'Nothing,' the premium Android phone brand, recently announced its upcoming cross-platform messaging app titled 'Nothing Chats.' Nothing Chats enables users on the Android platform to communicate with Apple users via iMessage. However, while regular Android phones can participate in these chats, Nothing Chats will prevent the iMessage thread from having certain features restricted. Additionally, the Nothing Phone user's messages will not be green.

Nothing Chats is built on an open-source iMessage solution for Android titled 'Sunbird,' and is effectively a streamlined version of the app with a few features that simplify the experience for Nothing Phone users. The Sunbird and Nothing Chats applications are intended to minimize the disparity between iPhone users and Android users in social circles, ensuring that all phones are treated equally.
