Valio is a Finnish dairy manufacturer that recently came out with its own line of non-dairy yogurt products, driven by an increased consumer demand for greater plant-based options.
While there are some dairy-free yogurts on the market that are made with nuts or soy, this one appeals to both vegans and those with dietary sensitivities. The Oddlygood line made with locally sourced Finnish oats includes plain, vanilla and dark cocoa oat milk varieties, as well as other vibrant fruit flavors such as blueberry, raspberry, mango and strawberry. After the Oddlygood line is debuted in Finland in the new year, Valio has plans to introduce it to Sweden in the spring.
Like Valio, other global leaders in the dairy industry are exploring the benefits of offering plant-based creations by introducing their own products and acquiring other food start-ups that have already been established as experts in the category.
