The new Ticketmaster app, which has been redesigned for iOS, knows that mobile transactions are the way of the future. Indeed, 16% of Ticketmaster's sales in the first three months of 2014 were from mobile devices, a figure which could dramatically spike in the months (and years!) to come.
By recognizing their customer's needs and, more importantly, their preferences, Ticketmaster has potential to sell more tickets. The new app offers a drastic improvement to the customer experience. Namely, it makes the entire process faster by eliminating the need for users to type in a security code. Because the app operates using push notifications, Ticketmaster is aware when a single user is looking to purchase a ticket, bypassing the need for a security code.
Other features on the app include being able to send tickets to a friend, set calendar alerts and check for pre-show information.
