Flared Out Seating

The Nest Sofa by lagranja is a Subtly Tweaked Standard Couch

The Nest Sofa has a deceptively simple aesthetic. Although it may appear like a standard couch at first glance, upon further inspection a person will note the careful details of the construction. Namely, the way the cushions flare and taper out for a dramatic and whimsical finish.

Designed by lagranja, a designer studio based in Barcelona, Spain, for the Valencia-based furniture manufacturer KOO International, the Nest Sofa rightly brings people's attention to its singular comfort. By modifying the cushions in such subtle and stylish way, the designers ensured that people will be particularly drawn to them for one reason or another.

When concepting the Nest Sofa, the designers confessed, "We don’t like much minimalistic squared sofas, or too skinny ones." By putting their minds to the test, they found "balance between softness, roundness and an elegant presence."
