Starbucks recently announced that it will be launching a new line of Nespresso-compatible pods. With Nespresso dominating the single-cup brewer market in Europe, the new partnership could help Starbucks expand its at-home reach.
The new Nespresso-compatible pods from Starbucks will be made using some of the chain's finest coffees. More specifically, the range will include Starbucks' Fairtrade espresso roast, the Guatemala Antigua espresso, the Colombia espresso and the Kenya espresso. Like other Nespresso products, the pods will be packaged in boxes with 10 capsules inside.
The new pods will be available in retail stores, supermarkets and through Starbucks' online store, making the product widely accessible for consumers. As Starbucks EMEA vice-president channel development Duncan Moir explains, "we have a great opportunity to bring the Starbucks quality coffee experience to even more consumers right where they want it, at home."
