Google's Doodle Helps Voters on National Voter Registration Day

Registering to vote is simple, yet it remains a pesky and often impassable hurdle for many US voters, so Google's new Doodle for National Voter Registration Day puts voter registration in front of hundreds of millions of users.

Google is the most heavily trafficked website in the US. Recognizing the capabilities that that standing offers it, the Google team used its clout to increase voter registration and help people get involved in the democratic process. By clicking on the National Voter Registration Day Doodle, they will be directed to the government website that registers voters online.

According to Google's blog post about the Doodle, 86 percent of people who registered to vote in the 2012 federal election went on to actually cast a ballot.
