MW Luxury Packaging Created a Premium Design for Johnnie Walker

Packaging manufacturers MW Luxury Packaging collaborated with global whisky giant Johnnie Walker on a number of occasions over the past few years. Now, the two companies have come together once again to unveil a particularly artistic creation: a pack for Johnnie Walker’s Blue Label Ghost & Rare Special Release, which was blended from eight exceedingly rare Scotch whiskies.
For this project, a clever sliding pack was engineered, boasting premium gray board construction and high-quality art paper wrappings. Inside, the bottle sits in cream vacuum-formed fitments, while outside, all eight whiskies are marked out on the wrapping in either gold foil or screen-printed script.
As with any good packaging, this pack is supremely simple to use, but the straightforward design belies the trickier technical aspects of the build. The sliding design depends upon three elements: a bespoke sliding mechanism, hidden magnets holding the inner drawer in place and, last but not least, a discreet hole that helps to control the vacuum effect.
Combine this innovative and well-constructed design with the gorgeous illustrated exterior and you have a truly timeless pack.
