I IN Updates the Reception Lounge in Museum Tower Kyobashi

Local design firm I IN has updated the design of a reception lounge for a Tokyo office nestled inside of the Museum Tower Kyobashi. It adds a verdant plant as the main design focus along with a captivating sculptural installation made from ceramic materials. The team wanted the space to celebrate the function of the building itself and leaned on the notion of 'Work with Art' for the redesign project.
I IN spoke about the design to Dezeen, noting "At this five-year milestone, the interior was remodelled with the aim of merging art with sensibility and work with reason, creating a chemical reaction between the two. We designed the lobby to serve as a grey area between 'on' and 'off', functioning as neither an office nor a home. Of course, there are workplaces in the building, along with a place to eat and a garden on the roof. However, there was no living space. Therefore, we decided to design the lobby as a 'living lounge'."
