A Collection for Ster-Kinekor Theatres Glorifies Movie Travel Locations

A series of illustrations for South African cinema chain Ster-Kinekor Theatres used fictional locations to create movie travel ads. The posters advertise fictional locations featured in famous movies as exciting vacation destinations. Along with the pictures is text promoting Ster-Kinekor that reads "Our big screen takes you there."

The posters were conceived by designers at MUTI who collaborated with ad agency FoxP2. The creative team created a series of four posters for Ster-Kinekor. Movies like 'Avatar,' 'The Shining,' 'King Kong' and ‘The Lord Of The Rings’ were used. Each cinematic masterpiece had a beautiful location extracted from it. The travel ad for King Kong features the ape's birthplace of 'Skull Island' while The Lord Of The Rings is advertised with the mythical 'Minas Tirith.'
