The Most Imaginative Bartender competition is an annual event hosted by Bombay Sapphire gin, which inspires some of the greatest bartenders from all around to come together and show off the best creative cocktail recipe they have to offer.
Come September 2018, James Bailey of Toronto's Drake Hotel will represent the country in England during the international competition, after beating out eight finalists to claim the title of Canada's Most Imaginative Bartender.
The cocktail created by Bailey featured a creative compilation of ingredients, which included Bombay Sapphire Gin at the focus, and was accented with lemon, honey, Rinquinquin, cardamom bitters, and leaves of arugula.
To start, Bailey muddled the arugula together at the bottom of a shaker tin to bring out the flavor, and then combined the rest of the ingredients. Afterwards, ice was added and the cocktail was thrown four times. To serve, it was finely strained into a chilled cocktail glass and artfully topped with lemon and arugula.
