Artist and craftsman Kevin Champeny has recently turned thousands of hand cast resin fish sculptures into a psychedelic mosaic design.
Champeny created this multicolored mosaic, fittingly titled School of Transcendence, made entirely from thousands of resin fish. The fish come in a wide variety of technicolor shades like blue, orange, red and yellow. Some of the resin fish are made with transparent plastic and others with solid colors to create a more dynamic mosaic aesthetic. Each of the 25,000 hand casted fish were assembled like a school of fish to recreate a gigantic koi fish. The final image measures roughly 42-inches by 60-inches. From an aerial perspective the koi fish looks hypnotic and breathtaking. When the viewer gets up close they can see all the individual fish layered in the mosaic's design.
