Mondi and Skånemejerier have announced a collaboration on the latter brand's Hushållsost cheese packaging that's meant to provide impressive product protection with a highly recyclable profile.
The packaging boasts a monomaterial base web that's produced and printed by Mondi, and converted by Skånemejerier for its one and two-kilogram blocks of cheese. The packaging will be launching into ICA supermarkets in Sweden and is capable of being recycled after use to keep it out of the landfill. The material is reported to protect well from water vapors and oxygen, while also delivering impressive resistance to puncturing.

Our new mono-material solution is fulfilling exactly that: it keeps the cheese fresh while also keeping the packaging materials in circulation through design for recycling.”
