Monai is a Table That Regulates One's Circadian Rhythm
Laura McQuarrie — March 29, 2016 — Art & Design
MONAI is more than just a table with a light—it's a tool for balancing one's circadian rhythm and sleep cycles. The table was developed in order to undo some of the damage that inevitably happens as a result of spending a lot of time in front of a computer. MONAI has internal circadian rhythm technology, which means that users are able to set a time zone to change the light settings. For instance, the blue-colored light triggers the release of cortisol, which enhances productivity.
In order to seamlessly fit into interior environments, MONAI is designed as a drum-like form with removable legs.
Looking to the future, the design team behind MONAI has plans to release an app in order to give users more control over the smart table's lighting system.
