The Mona Lisa 3D Studio has been launched by the Barry Callebaut Group as the world's first personalized 3D-printed chocolate that will help to accelerate production, while still maintaining an attention to bespoke detail.

The industry-leading move by the brand will allow chefs and customers alike to personalize a chocolate with a design of their own, while also customized the shape and size to match their preferences. The design is then prototyped before being approved and can then be reproduced at scale without any attention to detail or quality lost in the mix.

The Mona Lisa 3D Studio teamed up with pastry chef Jordi Roca who created the Flor de Cacao and explained that, "This new way of working with chocolate is going to take consumers by surprise, with previously unthinkable shapes produced at scale and with impressive precision. I’m usually inspired by the things I can’t do as they represent a creative challenge – but now, thanks to Mona Lisa 3D Studio, I can take my chocolate craftsmanship to the next level. I can imagine any new kind of design and it will come to life.”
