House of Shila Creates a Sultry Look for Mona Athens Hotel

Design studio House of Shila designs the interiors of the Mona Athens hotel, which can be found in the city's Psirri district within an old 1950s building that previously functioned as a textile factory. Additionally, the ancient Acropolis of Athens can be seen directly from the rooftop of the hotel as well.

Some of the defining elements of the new design include the retained details. This features the original iron staircase for a dramatic look followed by the terrazzo flooring, the marble facade, and the metal window frames. Creative director Eftihia Stefanidi explains that "We designed Mona with great respect for the building's 1950s architecture. The structure itself remains unchanged, revealing 70 years of history. Emphasis was given to preserving original features."
