When it comes to a modular product, a modular packaging system is also in order. At least, that was the thinking behind the packaging for the unique TMA-2 headphones. As the design firm behind the concept put it, "The task was to create a packaging system for a modular headphone with over 20 parts and more than 500 combinations." But more than that, the packaging "needed a scheme that could service both the SKU management, pick & pack solutions for warehouses, webshop."
Conceived by AIAIAI / Kilo Design, the modular packaging system for TMA-2 headphones took on a graphic and industrial aesthetic. The design of the headphones was inspired by 2001: A Space Odyssey, so it's only natural that the packaging also was. Minimal, playful and most importantly informative, the packaging is one for the books.
