Baran Studio Architecture was the studio behind this modern renovation of a duplex residence on '19th Street' San Francisco, California.
The home has a colorful history that includes many remodels over the years, unfortunately resulting in an aesthetic that is a little divided. The architects' main challenge, then, was to create a space that is cohesive and harmonious in its design and flow, while operating within the zoning restrictions and being mindful of the neighboring residences.
For visual appeal, the architects incorporated Redwood material throughout the home's entrances, deck and garage. The wall meets with a large window, both looking towards San Francisco's downtown core. The end result is a home that features a unified and modern aesthetic.
