Panda Express' Mobile Filters Explore Chinese New Year Traditions

Panda Express is inviting people to experience the first-ever Lunar New Year-themed AR experience with mobile filters that are based on Chinese New Year traditions. On Instagram and Facebook, Panda Express created the interactive Celebration of Good Fortune AR experience to share five traditions. Each augmented reality filter on social media involves a different symbol of the Lunar New Year and invites people to enter for their chance to win a three-day trip in 2021 to Universal Studios Hollywood.

While one augmented reality experience is centered on snacking on lucky foods, others involve revealing surprises in red envelopes and parading as a lion dancer.

For a limited time, Panda Express is adding Firecracker Shrimp to its menu to kick off the arrival of the Lunar New Year.
