As part of the Luminato festival (art festival sponsored by L'Oréal Professionnel and Lancôme), famous Canadian fashion photographer Raphael Mazzucco contributed to the event in Toronto.
The work incorporates photographs transferred onto 8 foot canvases and then modified using sketching and painting techniques. Finally, the mixed media collages are completed by casting the pictures in a thick, clear resin.
The outcome from this process is just stunning.
Implications - Consumers are looking for designs that offer more than just visually stimulating elements. Products that dig deeper past aesthetically pleasing aspects attract those customers looking for art that creates intellectual discussion. Companies could incorporate more meaning into their pieces in order to attract those shoppers looking for more than eye candy.
