Fleeting Encounter Artworks

The Missed Connections on the New York Subway is Tragic

It is tragic to think of all of the neglected kismet meetings that take place every minute in many different situations; the Missed Connections on the New York Subway artwork hones in on one specific scenario. Elaborating on her original Missed Connections series in which artist Sophie Blackall illustrates postings on the similarly named section of Craigslist, this poster takes a step backwards and visualizes people before they even decide to follow up on what they believe could be the bud of a new and exciting relationship.

A vibrant masterpiece, due to both the colors used and characters portrayed, the Missed Connections on the New York Subway poster illustrates fleeting encounters in a way that will encourage people to seize the moment. It was created for the New York MTA Arts for Transit program.
