Anish Kapoor Presents Mirror Works Installation Across NYC

Mirror Works is a new series of reflective sculptures by Anish Kapoor currently presented in New York City, continuing the artist’s long-running exploration of perception, scale, and spatial distortion. The installation features highly polished mirrored surfaces that capture and alter reflections of the surrounding urban environment.

The works are installed across multiple locations, interacting with architecture, movement, and changing light conditions throughout the day. Curved and concave forms bend reflections of streets, buildings, and passersby, producing shifting visual effects depending on the viewer’s position. The sculptures vary in size and orientation, with some positioned at street level and others integrated into architectural contexts.

Kapoor’s use of reflective materials in Mirror Works emphasizes physical engagement and spatial awareness. The mirrored surfaces fragment and recombine elements of the city
