Design Within Reach Presents the Miles C Bates House

American imprint Design Within Reach has tapped the help of British fashion designer Paul Smith to furnish the Miles C Bates house. It is a notable mid-century home located in Palm Desert and now, it can be rented out by guests. The Miles C Bates home is also known as the Wave House due to its recognizable roof. It was designed as a sculptor's studio for Bates, originally who then turned it into a communal hub for other artists.

DWR senior vice president creative director Omar Nobil speaks about the design, "We chose to launch the experiential aspect of the collection in the Wave House because of the home's original and bold design that parallels the collection. The property stands out amongst the many iconic mid-century homes in the community due to the eccentric gesture of the roof design, which is set amongst the dramatic landscape of the low desert."
