Cardboard Cactus Air Purifiers

Air purifiers are becoming more of a staple in homes as pollution continues to rise in urban settings and Meta Material has developed a great alternative to the traditional options. Electronic air filters are often very ugly and bulky while natural plants must be tended to on a daily basis. Meta Material combines the two to create a good-looking filter modeled after plants but functioning like a filter device.

Designed for Milan Design Week, Meta Material's air purifier is shaped like a cactus or minimalist cube and made out of recycled corrugated cardboard. It cleans the air with natural substances and virtually no noise more effectively than its conventional counterparts. Meta Material is open to custom designs as well.
