Meta announced a new initiative dubbed the 'Meta Journalism Project.' With this project, Meta aims to uplift new media and journalism startups by providing resources and offering detailed training courses. Meta has since partnered with numerous journalistic organizations, including 27 Canadian media outlets, to participate in the 'News Innovation Test.'
The News Innovation Test is a Facebook and Meta project that will contribute to the health of positive journalism as a whole. While this seems like an ambitious task, Meta believes that the knowledge it has gained from Facebook, Instagram, and more, allows it to be a premier educator in how to run a media outlet in the information age.
