Meta Announces Launch of New NFT Showcasing Features for Instagram

Mark Zuckerberg's Meta has unveiled its plans for entering the burgeoning NFT space. Interestingly, the new announcement comes directly on the heels of Twitter's recent NFT feature launch, which now allows users to upload and verify NFTs as profile pictures, as well as provide links to their larger NFT collections.
Similarly, Facebook and Instagram are now working on a new crypto-based feature that will let their users display their own NFTs on their profiles. In addition, the new feature will have marketplace elements, as users will be able to buy, sell, and even mint NFTs through the apps.
According to the Financial Times report, Instagram has already begun testing its NFT showcasing feature, which is being developed by the platform's Director of Products, Kristin George, and by Facebook's former Head of Payments, David Marcus.
