Florida-based start-up Marbel is developing what it claims to to be the world's lightest electric vehicle -- the 4.5-kg Marbel electric skateboard.
The Marbel skateboard is fitted with a 165 watt-hour battery which powers a 2,000 watt brush-less DC motor, enabling to hit a top speed of 32 km/h. The battery can be fully charged in 90 minutes, allowing for a range of 9.6 km on a full charge.
Riders can control the Marbel board using a wireless handheld controller, which is fitted with a thumb slider that users can slide up or down to accelerate or brake. The board also a built-in WiFi module which allows for highly advanced controls via an accompanying iOS and Android app. The physical skateboard itself consists of 180 mm longboard trucks and 76 mm wheels.
