The drive weighs in at just 5.5-pounds to ensure it won't take up too much space on a bike and boasts an external battery called the eX1 in place of a frame-concealed battery. The system is rated to deliver 55 Nm of torque, while the battery is rated to deliver up to 31-miles of assisted riding to make it great for a wide variety of riding requirements.
The MAHLE XS System electric bike drive is projected to be sold directly to bicycle manufacturers rather than being an aftermarket solution, so pricing has not been published as of late.
