Industrial designer Victor Moynier introduces the new MARATHON lamp designed to be a part of the collaboration between Swiss University ÉCAL and lighting label Foscarini. The main inspiration behind the lightweight portable piece is drawn from the athletic elements and running jackets. The lamp is constructed from ripstop nylon materials as it blends together fashionable sensibilities with product design -- highlighting the use of technical fabrics to develop something that is aesthetically pleasing and playful.
The MARATHON lamp embraces the consistency of new manufacturing opportunities that exist in the clothing industry. It boasts a fluid structure in order to reference the speed and performance of the world and was presented at the Palazzo Litta in Milan as one of the nine lamps designed by the ÉCAL students for Foscarini.
