Mapt Gear is Printing Trade Show Gift Bags Without the Use of Brand Logos
Justin Lam — February 19, 2018 — Art & Design
Mapt Gear is looking to change the trade show swag bag by cutting down on the branded imagery. Mapt Gear is hoping to end the trend of heavily logo-ed swag bags by offering simple and intelligently designed merchandise. Instead of displaying logos, Mapt Gear chooses to imprint a map that pinpoints the brand's location or headquarters. This simple concept stylishly publicizes the brand without turning the recipient into a walking billboard. Mapt Gear is currently offers three styles of bag, as well as an iPad case.
The brand is able to print its map tote bags thanks to a license to access a cartographic library. The maps are fully customizable based on client needs and can indicate the location of the brand's headquarters or the location of the conference. The printings can also feature a brand logo, but the company will keep it low-key and instead focus on the map. Mapt Gear's offerings subscribe to idea of less is more and use design features to generate discussion rather than simply push a brand's logo.
