I confess to being ignorant of the needs of traveling periodontists, but should the need to transport awkward equipment around arise, the Mantis Portable Dental Chair would seem to be a critical contraption.
Student Lee Kenttämaa-Squires came up with this complex concept, and has been named a finalist for the James Dyson Award. This project is particularly compelling when considering one function alone, but it's more than a simple collapsible patient examination recliner.
Should a dentist have reason to haul heavy apparatuses, the Mantis Portable Dental Chair can be folded up into a compact object with wheels. What's more, this invention is rendered further useful in its setup as a mobile porter. It's comfortable and it can conveniently carry an additional load of boxes and bags.
