Gender-Swapped Iconic Cartoons

Maby-Chan Reinvents Disney and Dreamworks Characters

Italian Artist Maby-Chan explores a new take on Disney and Dreamworks cartoons; she gender-swaps our iconic heroes. It's strange to see the very masculine roles become female and vice versa. Imagine a female Captain Hook and a male Rapunzel. Would that change the classic stories?

Maby-Chan explores this gender-bending concept by visualizing new costumes for her gender-swapped characters. The new outfits emphasize the new gender while still maintaining the original nature of the classic characters. Her work was made a little easier, due to the long hair and flowing costumes we see on most Disney movie males. Nevertheless, the gender-swapped makeovers are very well executed.

You can check out the artist's ongoing series on DeviantART and Tumblr and decide whether you prefer the original or the swapped version of these characters.
