A new Lush AR app is being tested and will allow customers to scan package-free products to learn everything about them. According to Adam Goswell, head of technology R&D at Lush, the ultimate goal of the Lush AR app is to further Lush's "eliminate more packaging and further educate our customers on our unique cosmetics.”
The app will leverage AR technology through a smartphone's camera and is meant to improve the customer experience in store. The Lush AR app will share details on all the ingredients within the products and will also provide information on the ethical sourcing and construction of each item. The app will also feature AI technology to some capacity that has not yet been explicitly stated.
