For many students, university is their first time living away from home, and the Lucien Cornil residence, a new complex that's been added to the Aix-Marseille University campus, is designed to make that new home as welcoming as possible. The design features a facade that allows light to flow through the building without sacrificing privacy, giving the residence a bright and cheery atmosphere.
The Lucien Cornil residence's interior is also designed with the playfulness of young students in mind. Its lobby features a loft area that consists of little more than a level of netting, creating a giant hammock that students can lounge around on. That netting also further opens lines of sight in the space, contributing to the airy feel of the residence as a whole.
