Art knows no bounds and this includes monetary limitations as well. The New York Times recently featured an article on how artists are coping with the recession.
The answer? They may have a lighter wallet and a tighter budget since the recession hit, but they are spending more time on their art and are forced to think in different ways like using more affordable materials or finding cheaper ways to create illusions of grandeur.
A calm sea does not produce a skilled sailor, and the hardships these artists are experiencing due to the economic recession are definitely allowing society to weed out the artists who can’t think outside the box and excel in the face of financial limitation.
