Franchised Art Galleries (UPDATE)

The Louvre Abu Dhabi by Jean Nouvel is Nearing Completion

When people think of the Louvre, images of Paris and fashionable women smoking endless cigarettes might come to mind, and the Louvre Abu Dhabi is the last thing on one's mind. However, by the end of 2015 connotations of this famous museum will change, as construction is at just over 20% complete, with the first gallery done.

The inside of the structure still needs a lot of work, but the outside appears to be finished, taking on a dome-like look. Jean Nouvel is the architect behind this design, which is quite the undertaking considering how iconic the original Louvre is in Paris.

The Louvre Abu Dhabi will take on much the same role as the one in Paris, housing various pieces of historic art and attracting numerous tourists each year.
