The Louis Vuitton Iconoclasts series consists of baggage and luggage collections designed by six world-renowned artists and designers -- Frank Gehry, Karl Lagerfeld, Marc Newson, Rei Kawakubo, Christian Louboutin and Cindy Sherman -- each of whom were challenged to reinterpret the famous LV monogram icon in their creations. Each of the artists was commissioned to create unique bags and luggage pieces in their own style while not compromising on Louis Vuitton's standards of luxurious excellence.
The Louis Vuitton iconoclasts series was conceived to mark the 160th anniversary of the founding of the venerable French luxury fashion house.
"The monogram is the timeless icon of the Maison Louis Vuitton," said Louis Vuitton's executive vice president Delphine Arnault. "It was only natural that we should pay homage to it." The six creative giants who partook in the project did just that with their tasteful interpretations of the LV logo.
